Community Service

Giving back to the community has always been a priority for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. During its first year in business, all profits were donated to charity. Today, the company strives to be a positive role model in the industry by emphasizing the importance of giving back to the community, and it encourages franchisees to do the same. As a result, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is actively involved in the Gainesville community through its support of several local charities and organizations.
Giving Back to the Gainesville Community
A Corporate Commitment to Service
Mary Ellen Sheets, founder of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, has spent most of her life volunteering. So when she started TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, it made sense to include community service in the foundation of the business.
In her first year, Sheets profited only $1,000. She decided that even though she could use the money, she would donate $100 to 10 different local charities. She’s continued donating to the same 10 charities every year she’s been in business.
Sheets’ fervent commitment to helping the community is shared by her children. The family’s dedication has been an inspiration to everyone in the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® system. In fact, 10 cents of every move is donated to the American Cancer Society.
Serving the Gainesville Community
As a result of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®’s commitment to service, franchisees from across the country are encouraged to dedicate both time and money to area charities. The Gainesville franchise honors this commitment by giving back to the community through local charities including:
- Dance Marathon with the University of Florida
- Haven Hospice
- Children's Home Society
- Humane Society
- Children's Cancer Fantasy Event
- Children's Miracle Network
